As part of its unwavering commitment to community development, Ikeja Metro Lions Club has once again demonstrated the true spirit of service by commissioning a core project for the 2024–2025 Lions service year. On May 29, 2025, the club officially handed over a newly constructed block of five modern toilet units to the students of Ifako Ijaiye Senior Comprehensive High School, Lagos.
According to the Club President, Lion Chike Akaeze NLCF, the initiative aligns with the Lions Club’s global mission to identify needs within the community and respond with impactful solutions. “This project is dear to our hearts because access to proper sanitation is a fundamental need for every student,” Lion Akaeze stated. “By providing this facility, we are not only promoting hygiene but also supporting a conducive learning environment. We are delighted to be able to carry out this intervention and give back meaningfully to our community. Despite the challenges in funding and navigating approvals, our commitment never wavered. Service is who we are, and we are proud to serve.”
The commissioning was attended by students, staff, and members of the Lions Club, who gathered to celebrate yet another milestone in community service.
