The spirit of service roared to life on Sunday, September 21, 2025, when the Lagos Marvel Lions Club formally inducted 18 registered CUB Lions, aged one to eleven years, at the Happy Days School Hall, Medina Estate, Gbagada, Lagos.
In a heart-warming ceremony, the vibrant young CUB Leos were inducted by the District Governor, Lion Oluwakemi Eribake, MJF, NLCF. Lion Eribake expressed delight at witnessing the event, noting that the formation of the CUB Leo Club aligned perfectly with her vision to “achieve Mission 1.5 through birthing new clubs and growing the Lions family.”
Club President, Lion Olakunbi Labiyi, MJF, NLCF, radiated pride as she fulfilled one of her major goals for the service year—sponsoring and inducting a CUB Leo Club. “Getting them young and teaching them the art of kindness and community service ensures that these children grow with a heart for humanity,” she said. She further explained that CUBs transition to Alpha Leos at age 12, then to Omega Leos, and ultimately to Lions, creating a lifelong pathway of service.
The event was graced by club leaders, parents, and well-wishers, who gathered to cheer on the newest members of the Lions movement. Highlights of the afternoon included lively entertainment, the ceremonial cutting of a celebratory cake, and the moving moment when each CUB Leo donned an official activity jacket and CUB patch before taking a solemn pledge of service.
The induction of the Lagos Marvel CUB Leo Club stood as a shining example of nurturing young hearts to serve and marked a significant step toward sustaining the global legacy of Lions Clubs International.
