On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club carried out its largest Back-to-School Activity to date, bringing smiles and relief to pupils and parents alike. The outreach, which took place at Araromi Primary School and Kiniun Ifa Primary School, Gbagada, Lagos, was aimed at equipping children with essential learning materials to promote quality education and reduce the financial burden on families.
In what has been described as a landmark service project, no fewer than 600 pupils benefited directly from the initiative. Each child received a complete learning kit, with the club distributing:
150 leather school bags
3,000 units of 60-leaves exercise books
3,000 pencils
3,000 biros
2,000 rulers
2,000 erasers
The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as the children proudly held up their new supplies, which many described as a beacon of hope for a brighter academic future.
Speaking at the event, the President of Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support the project received. “This initiative is not just about distributing school materials,” the President said. “It is about investing in the future of our children and affirming our club’s commitment to the Lions’ mission of supporting youth and education. We are proud of the impact made today, and we will continue to serve with dedication.”
Some beneficiaries also shared their heartfelt appreciation. A Primary Five pupil at Araromi Primary School said with a wide smile, “I am very happy to get a new bag and books. Now I can write well in school and my parents will not worry.” A parent, equally moved, added, “This gesture has lifted a huge burden off us. We sincerely thank the Lions Club for remembering our children.”
The Club extended appreciation to the District Governor Lion Kemi Eribake MJF, NLCF,  Second Vice District Governor Phina Origho PMJF, NLCF, Lion leaders, members, and distinguished guests whose presence and contributions helped make the project a success.
The event has been hailed as one of the most impactful service projects of the 2025/2026 Lions year, cementing Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club’s place as a beacon of service in the community.
They are indeed Committed to Serve!
