On the 29th of September 2025, Eko Royal Lions club, in partnership with Ikeja Local Government, successfully commemorated World Cardiac Day with a community-focused health outreach aimed at promoting cardiovascular health and overall wellness.
The event featured a wide range of free health services, including blood sugar testing, blood pressure screening, HIV testing and counseling, treatment of minor ailments, and the distribution of free medications. These services provided much-needed health support to community members while increasing awareness of the importance of early detection, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
By improving access to essential healthcare services, the initiative empowered individuals to take greater responsibility for their health and encouraged the community to prioritize heart health. The program also underscored the value of strategic partnerships in advancing public health and delivering meaningful impact at the grassroots level.
In line with Mission 1.5, the club recorded a significant milestone during the celebration with the induction of five new members, further strengthening its service capacity and commitment to community development. Overall, the World Cardiac Day celebration fostered a culture of health consciousness and clearly demonstrated how collaborative efforts can drive sustainable and positive change within the community.
