In celebration of International Women’s Day, Ikeja Dynamic, Maryland Golden, Lagos British, Lagos Indiana, and Lagos Shining Star Lions Clubs held a joint project raising awareness for women’s reproductive health as well as diabetes awareness and test at Ikeja Local Government, Lagos state on the 21st of March, 2025.  The activity was used to educate women on common reproductive health conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Additionally, the event offered blood sugar tests and educated attendees on managing blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes to prevent diabetes.

Many women suffer from reproductive health issues without proper knowledge or diagnosis. This program helps spread awareness and encourage early detection. Also, early detection of pre-diabetes can prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes through lifestyle changes. This project aligns with the Lions Club’s mission of service and impact, ensuring that not only women have the knowledge and support needed for a healthier future but that the general public is also aware and tested. Fliers related to these two areas were shared to also sensitize the public.
