The youth arm of Lions Clubs International, District 404B2 Nigeria, on Sunday September 7th installed its 12th District President, Lion Emmanuel Oladokun, for the 2025/2026 service year.
The installation ceremony also featured the swearing-in of district officers and club presidents, signaling a renewed commitment to transformative service across Kwara, Ekiti, Osun, and parts of Oyo and Lagos States.
In her remarks, District Governor Eribake Oluwakemi MJF, NLCF commended the new District President, describing him as a leader with “vision, courage, and humility,” while urging members to rally behind him. “The success of a leader depends on the strength of the team,” she emphasized.
The outgoing president, Ayodele Kayode, reflected on his achievements, which included the chartering of six new Leo clubs, the publication of a quarterly magazine, and the execution of impactful initiatives such as World Diabetes Day. He credited his success to the collective support of members and expressed optimism for the district’s future under Oladokun’s leadership.
Anchoring his tenure on the theme “Innovative Leadership: Service Beyond Self,” Oladokun, in his inaugural address, outlined his vision to lead differently by bringing fresh ideas into youth development and community service. Among his announced priorities were:
  • A flagship legacy project: the construction of a 50-seater modern classroom block for Itaji Community Grammar School in Ekiti State to replace dilapidated structures.
  • Twenty-one monthly initiatives: community-centered projects including donations to sick bays and elderly homes, campaigns on sickle cell awareness, youth empowerment, and sustainable community development.
He also highlighted service milestones already recorded under his administration, such as:
  • Thanksgiving services and donations across Ekiti and Lagos States.
  • A Leadership Advancement Bootcamp in Ede, Osun State.
  • The commissioning of a directional signpost project in Ede.
  • Virtual empowerment sessions for youth.
  • Relief material donations to IDPs in Igando, Lagos State.
  • Skill acquisition training for youths in Lagos State.
Leo Oladokun further announced the chartering of a new Leo Club and the revitalization of dormant ones, in line with Lions Clubs International’s Mission 1.5 to expand outreach and impact.
The event also doubled as a fundraising luncheon in support of Lions’ global causes, including diabetes awareness, hunger relief, environmental protection, pediatric cancer, youth development, humanitarian service, and disaster relief.
In his closing charge, Oladokun reminded members that leadership in Leoism was a collective mandate. “Today was not just my beginning, but a continuation of the values of service that bind us together. Whatever you do this Lions Service Year is not for me, but for humanity and the reason you joined the Leo Club. Together, let us serve beyond self and leave legacies that outlive us,” he said.
