In a heartwarming act of service, the Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, in collaboration with the Lagos Hilton Lions Club, both of District 404B2 Nigeria, recently carried out a major donation project to the Atunda Olu School for Children with Physical and Intellectual Disabilities in Surulere, Lagos. The event, held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, brought smiles to the faces of children, caregivers, and the entire school community.
The outreach which was also carried as lined up activities to celebrate the 40th birthday ceremony of Lion Oluseun Onigbinde, MJF, NLCF, Zone Chairperson and a Past President of Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, was aimed at supporting the school’s efforts in providing care, education, and rehabilitation for children with special needs.
Speaking at the event, Lion Adeniyi Agunloye First Vice President of Lagos Hilton Lions Club, commended the spirit of partnership and compassion that inspired the initiative. He emphasized that true service lies in giving hope to those who need it most, describing the project as “a reflection of the Lions’ unwavering commitment to touching lives and creating inclusive opportunities for every child.”
In his remarks, Lion Niran Somefun, President of Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, expressed joy at the success of the collaboration, noting that the visit reaffirmed the club’s dedication to humanitarian service. He added that serving children with disabilities reminds us all that love, empathy, and care know no boundaries.
Lion Seun Onigbinde MJF, NLCF, applauded members of both clubs for their selfless participation and highlighted the importance of sustaining such impactful initiatives. “Children with disabilities deserve not just care but dignity, education, and opportunities to thrive. Our duty as Lions is to ensure no one is left behind,” he said.
The donation exercise, which included essential supplies and learning materials, underscored the Lions’ global mission to serve with compassion and strengthen communities through acts of kindness. The collaboration between Ikeja Dynamic and Lagos Hilton Lions Clubs was widely praised as a shining example of unity and shared purpose within the Lions family.
