In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, the New Voices team proudly carried out a remarkable environmental initiative themed “Tree Planting for a Greener Tomorrow” at Government Technical College, Agidingbi, on the 28th of May 2025.
As part of this impactful activity, 48 trees and flowers were planted with the vision of transforming a section of the school grounds into a beautiful garden space — a place where pupils, teachers, parents, and guests can relax, reconnect with nature, and experience the mental health benefits of a serene green environment. The initiative is aimed at reducing stress, fostering environmental awareness, and enhancing overall well-being within the school community.
To further promote sustainability and responsible waste management, the New Voices team also donated a recycling bin, encouraging students and staff alike to embrace environmentally conscious practices. We commend the dedication and leadership of the New Voices Coordinators: Lion Evelyn Agbonifo (Membership), Lion Josephine Ngeleh (Marketing) and Lion Matilda Braimoh (Service).
Joining the District Governor at the event was the District Governor Elect, Lion Kemi Eribake, while the highlight of the day was an inspiring and educational lecture delivered by Guest Speaker Lion Elizabeth Makinde, who engaged both pupils and teachers with insights aligned with the theme.
Together, we are planting not just trees, but hope for a greener, healthier future.
Kudos to the New Voices team for leading the way
