The recently concluded Spelling Bee organized by Lions District 404B2 marked a historic first for the district, bringing together bright young minds from five participating schools: Wuraville College, Westerville College, Stockbridge College, Brilliant Child College, and Wisdom Mike College.
The Spelling Bee is more than just a competition; it promotes literacy, enhances vocabulary, and builds confidence among students. It also encourages healthy academic rivalry and helps participants improve their public speaking and critical thinking skills — all essential tools for lifelong success.
At the end of the exciting contest, Wisdom Mike College emerged as the winner with 53 points, while Brilliant Child College came second (1st runner-up) with 50 points. Wuraville College secured the third position (2nd runner-up) with 30 points. All top-performing schools received special gifts in recognition of their outstanding efforts. Additionally, every participating school was awarded a Certificate of Participation, and students who didn’t advance to the final stage were also appreciated with consolation gifts.
Special appreciation goes to the host school, Wuraville College, ably led by Lion Sidikat Balogun, PMJF, NLCF, for generously providing the event hall at no cost and for playing a crucial role in the smooth and successful organization of this impactful project
